Addendum to the final point — we're not losing manuals to the Prius (those drivers would've taken the bus anyway). We're losing manuals to cars like this:
... and the new Clio RS — supposed enthusiast cars that reduce the level of driver involvement. (I'm giving a pass to the hypercars — I just don't care about willy waggling at this point.)

/smh. That's definitely douche-y of them to snag content from others and not credit their sources. I try my best to give credit wherever and whenever possible.

On #6 - It doesn't matter to them whether or not it's a manual or not. If you've seen the latest movie, in the beginning scene where Brian is driving the GTR, he shifts from Neutral back into Drive to simulate shifting.
